Lead Testing Services
In order to test for lead, a surface by surface test is performed on all components inside and outside of the building. Identification of lead-containing materials will help the contractor to select safe work methods for handling that material.
The U.S. EPA and IDPH defines a material as "lead containing" if it contains at or above 1.0 mg/cm2 lead. Furthermore, OSHA considers lead in paint to be any detectable level of lead concentration to be a concern during renovation and demolition activities.
Inspection and testing services are the first steps in attempting to identify lead-containing components. Once these components have been identified, plans to address them on an individual or collective basis may be drawn up, including quantification of material and cost estimates for abatement options.
All ARS, Inc. inspectors are EPA certified and IDPH licensed lead risk assessor with current certification. All components are analyzed via X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer (XRF) and labeled. All XRF fieldwork is conducted in accordance with guidelines outlined bythe EPA .
